Summary

Anduril COO Matt Grimm joined the Murphy Challenge — a 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, and another mile run, all in a weighted vest — alongside roughly 150 Anduril employees at an event tied to the Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum. The workout originated as Murphy's go-to routine during deployment and spread through CrossFit gyms after the helicopter pilot who recovered Murphy's team started doing it himself. It has been running for 12 to 13 years under the name the Murph Challenge, with Anduril now a formal partner of the foundation Chris Wy runs in Murphy's honor.

Grimm finished in about 1 hour 11 or 12 minutes. The men's division winner completed the full circuit in 35 minutes.

Veterans at Anduril

Veterans make up roughly 12 to 13% of Anduril's workforce, well above the national average and considerably higher than is typical in Silicon Valley. One of Anduril's co-founders is a veteran. The company hires across the full spectrum: field ops technicians installing and training users on products, maintenance and repair techs, production floor workers, mechanical and electrical design engineers, software engineers, and into senior leadership, including retired flag officers and colonels. Anduril runs a partnership with Skillbridge, the DoD program for transitioning veterans, alongside targeted recruiting relationships with the transitioning veteran community.

Memorial Day swag drop

On Veterans Day last year, Anduril's first public swag store drop raised around $60,000 for the Blue Star Families Foundation. A second drop launches on Memorial Day, roughly ten days out, with proceeds going to the Murphy Foundation.

Anduril also supports Warriors of Field, a charity run by an Anduril executive that helps veterans in distress through mentorship, outdoor activities, and wilderness adventures.

Hiring pitch

Grimm describes Anduril's hiring filter as mission drive first, technical skill second — people motivated by protecting American values and engaged with the next generation of warfighter technology, from AI to drone systems.
